In 1997, Jim LaRoche and Tony Garcia from Tony Garcia Photography developed a unique new style which was based on shooting body or subject parts with a wide angle lens. They generally shot backgrounds with a normal angle lens, and foreground objects with the wide lens. Then they composited the parts to create a three-dimensional effect that makes a subject really jump off the page - it is a technique that is widely still imitated and used in the advertising industry.

Most of these images were sold to Getty Images, and Superstock for their stock photo libraries.

In 1998, Jim and Tony launched Funnyface Greeting Cards and have since created over 70 new products, including greeting cards, notepads, latte mugs, and money banks.
